About

Who Am I?

img_2499.jpgHi, My Name is Josh Leo and I’m a media producer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I have been blogging since 2003 and video-blogging since 2005, before YouTube even existed! I use Final Cut Studio for my video work and Adobe Creative Suite for my design work. I stay up to date with the latest industry changes both technically and creatively.

The styles of video work that I do vary greatly. I have remixed footage from the 1950’s to create music videos, I have animated text and images to create Kinetic Typography videos, I have traveled all around the world interviewing people for video-profiles for non-profits. Whatever the situation calls for, I am up for the challenge.

I have spoken at Apple store events in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco and led two sessions at Vloggercon 2006 in San Francisco (iMovie Tips and Tricks, Mashups and Remixing). I wrote as a contributing author for the book “Videoblogging” published by Wiley and also won best “Personal Diary Vlog” in the judges and viewers choice categories at the 2006 Vloggies.

Currently I work as a media producer for Words of Hope but am available for freelance work. I have a Bachelors degree in Communications and Mass Media from Calvin College. In my free time I enjoy traveling, hiking, backpacking, and playing mountain dulcimer. Feel free to contact me any time.
